2018/19年度の小麦生産は増加見通し（豪州）
Australian wheat production is forecast to rise in 2018/19.

豪州では、2018/19年度の小麦がこの４月から播種されますが、豪州農業資源経済科学局（ABARES）によれば、生産量は前年度を11.8％上回る23.7百万トンとなる見込みです。

これは、昨年は冬季（６～８月）の降霜、乾燥等により単収が大きく低下しましたが、今年は平年並みに回復すると見られるためです。

本日の写真は、豪州南東部ビクトリア州の収穫後の圃場で、来期の播種に向けて、害虫や雑草を駆除するため、殺虫剤・除草剤を散布している様子です。

According to the report released by ABARES, wheat will be planted from this April and wheat production for 2018/19 is forecast to rise to 23.7 million tonnes, up 11.8% from previous year.

This reflects yields returning trend after frosts, above average temperatures and dry conditions during the winter of 2017.

Today’s photo shows the grower is using a boom spray to apply pesticides and herbicides for post-harvest pests and weed control for next planting.
